Conservative site to sell Lego-style 'Build The Wall' toy set

Source: THE Hill

BY JUSTIN WISE - 11/14/18 10:16 AM EST

The conservative online merchant Keep and Bear is preparing to a sell a Lego-style toy set portraying President Trump's much-touted border wall.

"We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new line of toys: MAGA building blocks!" reads a description of the toy set on the company's website. "This toy makes a great Christmas gift for your kids and grandkids!"

The company said it is currently offering pre-orders for the set and will begin shipping on Nov. 23. The item, which features "MAGA" and "Build the Wall" emblazoned on the set's box, is being sold for $29.95.

In addition to the wall, the toy set features a President Trump figurine. The box also shows what appears to be a Hispanic person wearing a sombrero.

Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny flies out of Russia after ban lifted

Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has been allowed to fly out of Russia to attend the finale of a case he filed at Europe’s top human rights court, a day after border guards stopped him leaving the country.

Navalny, Russia’s most prominent opposition figure, wants to be in Strasbourg on Thursday when the European court of human rights is due to rule on whether his numerous detentions by police in Russia have been politically motivated or not.

He was prevented from flying out of Moscow on Tuesday over an unpaid court fine, which he said had been suddenly and illegally enforced as a pretext to stop him travelling abroad. The Federal Bailiffs Service, which blocked his exit, did not respond to a request for comment regarding Navalny’s allegations that its actions were illegal.

However, it told the Tass news agency on Tuesday evening that it had rescinded the travel ban after Navalny had paid the fine.

Stay in Strasbourg, man. Or go to London. Do not come here, because Putin's Viceroy Trump will ship you right back to his Master.

A Week After the Election, Democratic Gains Grow Stronger

Source: New York Times

Nov. 13, 2018

The 2018 midterm election looked last Tuesday like a serious but not crippling setback for Republicans, yet the picture has grown grimmer since then as a more complete tally of votes has come in across the country.

What looked at first like a modest Democratic majority in the House has grown into a stronger one: The party has gained 32 seats so far and appears on track to gain between 35 and 40 once all the counting is complete.

And Democratic losses in the Senate look less serious than they did a week ago, after Kyrsten Sinema was declared the winner in Arizona on Monday. It now looks like Democrats are likely to lose a net of one or two seats, rather than three or four as they feared last Tuesday.

The underlying shifts in the electorate suggest President Trump may have to walk a precarious path to re-election in 2020, as several Midwestern states he won in 2016 threaten to slip away, and once-red states in the Southwest turn a purpler hue. The president's strategy of sowing racial division and stoking alarm about immigration failed to lift his party, and Democratic messaging about health care undercut the benefit Republicans hoped to gain from a strong economy.

Had to whittle this because I had forgotten the four-paragraph rule. My bad.
